Some of the common problems with cars are overheating and cooling. These are some of the terrible things that can happen to the car because they lead to car breakdown anywhere and anytime. Every mechanical engine has an optimal temperature range within which it performs smoothly. Any extreme deviation from the optimal range can cause severe problems. The temperature can get extremely cold and extremely hot. In either way, it is unsafe for the car. Let’s discuss problems and solutions to heating and cooling one by one:

Car Heating Problem:

When the engine temperature rises above the optimal point, it causes an overheat. There are many reasons due to which overheating can cause. The most common reason can be a faulty cooling system. There could be a leaking cooling system, clogged coolant hose, faulty radiator fan, or broken water pump.

Solution:

If, unfortunately, you have to face a car breakdown due to overheating, you will have to ensure that you keep your cool. Getting tense and frustrated is not the solution to the problem. The solutions are as follows:

1- Turn of Air Conditioner:

The air conditioner is one of the culprits behind overheating. So, turn off the air conditioner when you realise the car is gaining temperature. Even if the car is not heating up, you must rarely use the air conditioner. Let natural air circulate inside the car by opening the windows of the car.

2- Pullover The Car Immediately:

Stop the car immediately the moment you realise that the car is extremely heating up. If possible, stop the car in the shade. Stop the engine and don’t keep it idle. Give it some time to get cool until you take it to a safe place. When you take the car to a safe place, give it some to get completely cool down. Keep checking the temperature gauge to monitor its temperature.

3- Call A Technician Nearby:

If the car has broken down in an area where you can find a mechanic nearby, try calling him. A mechanic will appropriately help you out on the field. But there is no problem if there is no technician nearby. You can help yourself if you have a bit of technical knowledge.

4- Add Coolant:

Check the coolant to find out the reason for overheating. If the coolant level has gone down, you will have to add if it is available in the car. But if the problem is a clogged coolant hose, faulty radiator fan, or broken water pump, this step cannot help.

5- Restart the Engine:

Carefully restart the engine and drive to a nearby repair shop. If the internet works, search ‘a car servicing near me’ and you will get the results. Take it to the nearest one you find on the map.

You can deal with the problem of overheating, but id advisable to take steps to avoid the problem itself. The precautions include:

1- Using AC rarely.

2- Monitoring the temperature gauge.

3- Adding engine coolant.

4- Coolant flush

Car Cooling Problem:

The role of a cooling system of the car is to prevent the car from overheating by transferring heat to the air. The water or coolant that circulates around the combustion chamber carries away the excessive heat. At a temperature below 0° C or 37° F, the coolant freezes. A frozen coolant can rupture the cylinder sides and cause cracks in it. Therefore, it is very crucial to keep a moderate temperature of the coolant. You can do it by adding anti freezers like ethylene glycol.

Any problem with the coolant causes car overheating, and cold temperature seizes the system. Therefore, to control the temperature of the engine, hot or cold, it is crucial to take care of the air coolant system.
